With a combined 1,000,000 acres in southeast Wyoming, the Medicine Bow National Forest is one of the finest snowmobiling playgrounds in the world. Over 300 miles of groomed and ungroomed trails give you access to thousands of acres of open meadows, endless forests perfect for playing in the trees, and a wide variety of hills to climb. No area can boast more consistent powder! Whether you bring your own sled or rent one from us, you can ride right from your hotel or cabin. With so many options for riding, there's something for every snowmobiler, from beginners to expert riders. You can stay on the groomed trails or you can adventure off and go boondocking or hillclimbing (located at the Snowy Range, the Widowmaker and Rollercoaster are rider favorites). Trail Map


The Medicine Bows have many other activities for the mountain enthusiest. Good for skiers and snowboarders, Snowy Range Ski Area is just a short drive away and offers a snowboard park and 27 seperate runs. The Snowy Range also provides ample oppurtunities for snowshoeing and cross country skiing through the snow covered trees and along frozen creeks. There are even groomed ski trails heading from the Green Rock parking area. For the avid fisherman the plains lakes and Lake Owen are great for ice fishing. Don't forget about the beautiful mountain vistas for the photographer and artsit in you.

Sleds and Guided Tours

In the winter Albany offers both Snowmobile rentals and guided tours. For the 2017-2018 season we are renting a brand new Arctic Cat fleet including the XF-6000 cross tour sled, the M-8000 high performance mountain sled, and the Bearcat 2-seater trail sled. The private guided snowmobile tours consist of full or half day trips tailored to your riding ability. Stops may include warming huts, the historic Keystone village, the magestic Snowy Range peaks, and other vistas. Sack lunches can be prepared for your trip with advanced notice.
